HaloGen 3

Posted by Geek-o-Rama Admin on 2:00 PM

In a shocking display, Det takes down Hale so that she, Rell, and Mason can reach the HaloGen ship and escape. As they make their way back to Cityship Q, Rell has to figure out what to do with Det.

Typically, any time a story tries to meld anything remotely religious I'm hesitant.  Admittedly, that's how I felt when I first started this series.  As I've continued on through the books though, it didn't completely overtake it and three issues into HaloGen is still working out.

Whether you think of Det as a little girl, or just a piece of this "god" everyone is after is up to you.  One thing we can all agree on though is that she can kick some ass, and does so in an effort to help the team escape.  Once back in safety, Rell agrees to let Det stay with her until they can work things out.  Of course, the word safety is used loosely, as the same group they met picking up Det is still after them.

Things got pretty cool artistically with this new issue, working in some awesome action scenes.  Even some of the other areas where it wasn't necessarily action did a nice job of using the sci-fi genre to its advantage.  Also of particular note starting off this book was a rather impressive cover if I may say so.

With the final issue coming up, it should be interesting to see just how this title wraps up.  Depending on how it does work out, there's definitely enough here that they could end up doing more.  Just in case it doesn't though, now is as good a time as any to catch up before the ending chapter hits stores.
