Very few people remember the comic creators that toiled away for peanuts in the 40’s and 50’s on virtually any topic that they could come up with that would turn them a dime.  Some would say that’s a good thing, but I doubt they have read Dick Briefer’s Frankenstein series.  This is without a doubt, a vision of Frankenstein that you have never seen before.  This is a fun, irreverent and imaginative collection that will remind you why it was so great to be a kid.  Those unfamiliar with the series will be treated to Frank’s comic adventures clearing out zombies, ghouls, mutants, finding a wife, raising exploding children, and uncursing the flying Dutchman, to name but a few.

The series began as a more traditional horror comic, but evolved into something unique. thanks to the wit and creativity of Dick Briefer, one of the many prolific writer / artist creators of that time period.  For anyone who enjoyed that period of comics, this is a must have.  The collection also features an image of one of the original page illustrations, as well as extra artwork from the series.  Don’t miss this beautiful collection of one man’s work who helped build the foundations for modern horror and dark humor comics.
