Sometimes it only takes just the first issue of a book to capture one's attention. When I had the opportunity earlier this year to read part one of Abigail and the Snowman, that was exactly the case. Now with the chance to read all four in this wonderful mini series, I was able to see in full just why it grabbed me so easily.
Young Abigail is like many children who spend a lot of their early days in the company of an imaginary friend. One day though, she manages to cross paths with something most wouldn't believe to be real, a yeti named Claude to be precise. The secret government agency who he escaped from send multiple people in after him and the new best friends do all they can to avoid them. Eventually, even Abigail's father is a part of this daring adventure, which fortunately ends happily.
Roger Langridge did such a great job in both the writing and the artwork for this title. I really enjoyed the endearing quality of his art that captures the free spirited nature of childhood. Claude has such an adorable design as a yeti, it's really no wonder that he became such a lovable character.
This series as a whole is another shining example of a book that is meant to be shared by parents and their children. For those not in that category though, it's still such a fun and heartwarming story that everyone can enjoy. I would totally recommend this to anyone to pick up, no matter your specific taste in comics.
