Zombie Tramp Vol. 2

She used to be Hollywood’s hottest high priced call girl.  Then a bite from an undead client changed her into something deadly different.  Now she searches for answers.  Janey Belle is the...Zombie Tramp.

One might immediately be thrown off by the concept of a book like this.  I mean, let’s be honest, it’s a very risqué topic to write a comic about.  Having read enough titles from the Danger Zone courtesy of Action Labs, I was confident that Zombie Tramp would be good.  In the end, this confidence proved to be right.

This is certainly outside the box for a zombie book.  Granted, there have been a multitude of variations to the popular genre, but this is one of the most unique I’ve seen lately.  You’d think that it would just be boobs and gore, but it seems to be leading to more.  But if that’s all you’re looking to see for whatever bizarre reason, you’ll definitely get that.

This issue features our undead lady of the night, and a mysterious girl who can somehow communicate with her.  This is quite an unusual pairing for sure, but this story of revenge and seeking answers could be interesting.  Without any back story to go off of, new readers might find themselves lost.  Even so, with this being my initial peek to the story, it was intriguing enough to want to read on.

The visuals within the book are a nice blend of primarily greyscale art and color splashed in to make it pop.  Even with the previously mentioned boobs and gore present, they aren’t overdone.  It’s strange to think that you could make a zombie call girl sexy, but Mendoza pulls it off well.

It’s no shock that this book won’t really be up everyone’s alley.  Thus far, Danger Zone has not disappointed, and they are keeping that alive with this next volume.  Once you can get past the ideas the title puts in your head, it’s a fun read that you should check out.
