The Resurrectionists 1

Posted by Geek-o-Rama Admin on 11:00 AM

Are you near-death experienced? Framed architect-turned-thief Jericho Way has discovered he’s a Resurrectionist, one of a select group of people who can not only remember their past lives, but become them. Two groups are now after his services—the Sojourn corporation, which wants to exploit his powers for mysterious purposes, and a motley crew of modern-day tomb robbers who have been trying to pull the same impossible heist for 3,000 years—and if Jericho joins them, he may steal back his own future!

From what I can gather from the first issue, the basic premise is that reincarnation is a very real thing.  At least three of the characters that we were introduced to have been reborn, previously being anything from an Egyptian architect to warriors throughout history.  The majority of this chapter focuses on one of character, the Egyptian in another life currently now living as a thief.  During a heist to ironically steal a copy of the Book of the Dead, he suddenly finds his mind filled with apparent memories of a former life that have him questioning everything including his sanity.

The team of artists that came on board for this new launch has given it a very solid start.  Whether it was simple panel to panel flow or fast paced action, the artwork for both lines and colors filled the pages beautifully.  In particular, the near flawless transition of art from present day all the way back to ancient Egypt was excellent.

I have to say, I am really digging the concept of this book already.  It’s a pretty fresh new storyline to enjoy, and kept me extremely interested the whole time.  There is a lot of room to work with in future issues, which I would absolutely like to check out.  I am highly suggesting that everyone check out this new title, as it has a lot of promise.
