Private investigator Jack McGriskin is a magnet for trouble-and this time it's a doozy.  Businessman Eddie Newman is dead and Jack has suspects, but can he make the charges stick?  And more importantly, can be live long enough to?  Stalked by a super-powered killer, Jack's time is running out!

Right out of the gate, we find our super powered private detective (never thought I’d say that) neck deep in trouble from our last encounter.  But in a crime drama set in a world with super humans, where else would you expect to find him?  This is just the intense start to an issue one would anticipate with Jack Hammer and Action Labs delivered.

Jack has gotten himself into quite the situation, facing off against an entire gang of other super humans.  Luckily for him, “normal” Detective Martin just happens to intervene at the right time and they get away.  Driven to learn the truth about the murder of Mr. Newman, the two of them head out to find out more.  The dark force behind the gang of super baddies is very set against this, and is intent on doing whatever necessary to keep them from it.  All too late does Jack realize that Newman’s widow is part of that plan to dissuade the good guys from their mission.

The art has stayed true to its original style from book one, combining the rougher dark pencils and sharp, yet darker colors.  We got to see more action in this next issue, and it was done so well you could practically feel the punches.   I really enjoy the visuals they’ve chosen for this series and hope that they continue to utilize this effective form.

The second chapter of this series has pretty much solidified the potential it has to be a great title.  I’ve yet to be anything but super impressed with anything that’s been thrown at me from Action Labs.  This is certainly no exception and should easily be on your pull list.  That is, assuming it isn’t already.
