Robyn Hood Legend 2

Posted by Geek-o-Rama Admin on 12:00 PM

Confounded and betrayed, Robyn reluctantly returns to Nottingham only to be greeted by the dark forces of Cal, The Sheriff of Nottingham.  With Allies and enemies alike, Robyn must now fight her way to the Sheriff’s stronghold, in order to finally put an end to his reign of terror.  However, something is amiss, something Will Scarlet neglected to tell Robyn that could jeopardize their entire mission.  Writer Pat Shand brings you the next exciting installment of the final chapter of Robyn Hood’s sordid story, where nothing is as it seems anymore.

Will Scarlet, alive!  How did he survive the Sheriff’s attack and is this even really the Will Scarlet she knows.  These are the kinds of thoughts that swirl through Robyn’s mind at this revelation.  This was the man she had fallen for during her time in Nottingham, only to watch him be cut down by Cal King and now he’s standing right in front of her.  Confused and overwhelmed she agrees, albeit reluctantly to accompany Guy of Gisbourne and Marian back to Nottingham.  Questions are put on hold however, as no sooner do they arrive in Nottingham are the attacked by the Sheriff’s dark horde.  The group soon wins the day with help from two more unlikely allies and it’s not until after they gain a moment’s rest do the revelations come.  Robyn has just had he world rocked essentially.  Living two lives as both hero and villain she never had time for love, nor did she believe she needed it, that is, until she met Will Scarlet.  He believed in her from the start and stuck by her through thick and thin, only to die and be resurrected and in the company of the man who aided in his death.  She can only assume at this point that things must be really bad if this alliance has been forged, what other explanation could there be?  It’s a classic case of “the enemy, of my enemy is my friend.”  Cal must be stopped and Robyn knows that she’s the only one can end this once and for all.

This series just keeps getting better with each issue.  There are so many different plot twists that you really don’t know what to expect from panel-to-panel and that keeps this issue interesting.  If you read the previous volume; Robyn Hood: Wanted (but, if you haven’t you should) then you saw how Will met his untimely demise.  Well apparently in this realm, death is survivable.  However, that’s not the only thing to keep you guessing.  The team-up between Guy, Marian and Will is sure to leave you scratching your head.  Pat has kept this issue and, so far, series as a whole from getting stale and predictable.  Sure you expect all of this kind of thing from the big name comic companies, but this is a world of chaos and you should never take anything for granted.  This is why I really enjoyed this issue, the unpredictability of it all.  It gives this series just one more aspect to enjoy.  I couldn’t find anything I didn’t enjoy about this issue and I whole-heartedly recommend this to everyone.

Returning to Nottingham and finding herself in trouble, is nothing new to Robyn.  However, teaming up with one of her most hated enemies and her previously dead lover, has definitely changed things up for her.  It’s up to Robyn to put an end to the Sheriff’s reign of terror, if she can get through it without losing her mind, or killing a teammate in the process.  So, join Robyn as she continues her quest to save Nottingham once again.  What else could go wrong at this point?  Pick up your copy today!  For more info on where to find this issue, please visit the Zenescope website, or the Zenescope Facebook page.
