Hit List #3

Posted by Katie on 8:00 AM

The hit list grows as more members of the Brown House Bishops fall to a mysterious crew of assassins. But a monkey wrench is thrown into the mix as Rian continues to play with fire. The acclaimed, heart-pounding, fast-paced action/thriller series from Zenescope Entertainment continues!

So, despite jumping into the middle of the series, it’s a pretty good read.  Billionaire Jordan Bale, has taken a few hits to his secret operation, but that’s not about to put a stop to his quest for vengeance against the Brown House Bishops.  Although, with Rian starting to slip-up, Jordan isn’t entirely sure this operation can go off without a hitch, despite Cody vouching for her.  Now the mercs are brought together to form a single strike force, but will they be able to work together?  Ralph Tedesco has really outdone himself on this one.  It reads like a TV action-drama and really sucks you into the story.  This is definitely one series I would pick up.

The writing by Mr. Tedesco is what made this issue.  I love the grittiness that the characters give off and how they each have their own sordid past, especially Rian apparently.  This is one of, if not the most realistic story that Zenescope has put out.  No powers or costumes, or supervillains, just a group of hired guns out to stop a criminal organization.  The artwork by Sami Kivela is just superb.  I mean everything looks gorgeous and it really brings the whole book together.  I’ve enjoyed this issue so much, that I’m thinking of running out and grabbing the previous two books, just so I get the whole story before the end of the series.  So, if you haven’t already picked up 1 and 2, go do that and definitely grab this one as well.

The only downside to this issue is that there’s only two more installments in the whole series.  Sure you don’t want the story to drag, but it sucks that it’s ending so soon as well.  I guess once this story comes to a close, we can all hope that Ralph is hard at work, bringing us a sequel to such a fine piece literature.

And there you have it, a no-holds barred showdown between Jordan Bale and Brown House is underway.  If Cody can keep Rian in line then this should go down without a hitch, but we all know that things never go that smoothly.  So, be sure to pick up a copy of Hit List issue 3 because if you don’t, this is one list you definitely don’t want to be on.  I’ve heard Will is a pretty good shot, just saying.  For more info on where to find this issue, visit the Zenescope website, or the Zenescope Facebook page.
