Calie and Violet find themselves still on the
run from Wonderland giving up any attempts at living a normal existence. They
try to stay one step ahead of its reach but even as their life on the road
continues, beings from the sinister realm spread their evil influence across
the Midwestern land. Elsewhere a middle age traveling salesman obsessed with
being the best of the best will find that in the world of Wonderland insanity
is on sale and all roads lead to madness. And what dark secret does he hold
that will give birth to an all new denizen of Wonderland? Find out here in this
not to be missed issue!
And the crazies just keep piling in. Calie and Violet have hit the road again,
hoping to find some sort of salvation from all of the horrors Wonderland has
thrown at them. Violet now fully
understands how evil Wonderland is and in turn isn’t apt to be as reckless as
she used to be. Not only is this for her
own safety, but to protect Calie as well.
Essentially, they’ve come to an understanding to watch each other’s
backs. However, for the sake of putting
some distance between them and their last run in with Wonderland, they’ve
decided to entrust their well-being to a total stranger. Going off of the norm, this was probably one
of the few cases where the hitchhikers needed to be wary of who they got a ride
from. The open road used to be a place
where you could kick-back and enjoy the ride, now it’s become a stretch of
distrust and wariness. Calie and Violet
need to keep their wits about them if they’re going to make their trip in one
piece.
I find myself drawn to this new character
Lory, who was kind enough to give Violet and Calie a lift. It’s rare that you find someone so nonchalant
while picking up hitchhikers, which makes one wonder if there is something more
to Lory than meets the eye. I mean, even
Calie’s warning voice in her head didn’t go off, so maybe Lory is just a really
trusting person, looking to help out someone in need. She seems like just your average, care-free
girl out for a drive, except for her game-changing secret that’s revealed at
the end of the issue. Now this is one
real doozy and definitely not what I was expecting. So, suffice to say Lory has my undivided
attention now and I’m really looking forward to seeing how she factors in later
on in the series.
No problems for me from this issue. The writing is outstanding as usual and there
was only one artist doing interiors. I
would say that’s a win right there. Even the creepster Gus isn’t enough to turn
me off of this book. It’s a very nice
story that fits in great as Calie and Violet make their transition to wherever
they may end up. In the end though, it
doesn’t matter where they go because it seems like Wonderland always manages to
find them.
So, the Liddle girls are on the road again, I
think there’s a song in there somewhere.
In this day and age, you never know who you’ll meet out on the
highways. So, as long as Calie’s “Wonder sense” (that’s what
I’m calling her little warning voice), keeps them out of trouble, these two girls
shouldn’t have any problems. And here’s
something I just thought of, you can’t tell me not a single guy stopped and
offered these two gorgeous girls a ride?
I somehow find that hard to believe, unless they hadn’t been on the road
for very. In any case, another
recommended read right here. So, go out
and grab this book, even if you have to hitch hike to the store, it’s worth
it. For more info on where to pick up
this issue, visit the Zenescope website, or the Zenescope
