A Christmas Carol

Charles Dickens’s holiday classic, A Christmas Carol, is given a fresh twist—with a female Scrooge! Rod Espinosa (The Courageous Princess) adapts and illustrates this story of the miserly Eliza Scrooge, who is visited by the ghosts of the past, present, and future on one fateful Christmas eve.

The Good

Out of all the Xmas classics, A Christmas Carol has always been my favorite, and The Night That Changed the Life of Eliza Scrooge is a great variation.  The story is very well paced and does a wonderful job of including all the key points you’d expect to see.  I really felt that everything which needed to be included to make this a good adaptation was there.

The Bad

All in all I really could not find anything that I wasn’t pleased with in this book.

The Summary

Anyone that enjoys Christmas stories, especially A Christmas Carol, should definitely add this to their collection.  Rod Espinosa certainly changes up the well known tale, but still keeps true enough to the original to honor it.  Even if you don’t read this during the holidays, it’s one you will enjoy.

As my all time favorite character, anime or otherwise, my list could never be complete without at least one Rei item.  Yet again, my love for Kotobukiya holds true with this figure.  Seen in her iconic plug suit upon a rubble stand, this fantastic PVC figure is a must have.  Kotobukiya plus Rei is pretty much epic win.

Admittedly, I joined the Walking Dead fandom late, and by watching the show first.  Once I started reading the books though, I was even more hooked.  So it really comes as no surprise that the next volume to collect the individual issues needs to be on my shelf.  Plus, it’s just easier to have them in such handy compendiums.

Batman has and always will be my favorite superhero.  I won’t bother getting into why, that’s for another time and place.  When I first heard about this book coming out, I knew I had to have it.  I geek over things easy, but to have a mock up collecton of files, dossiers, etc from the Batcave is another level of geeking out.

Needless to say, with how big of a Batman fan I am, having the whole series of BTAS is a long standing wish of mine.  I religiously watched this show growing up, and would gladly rewatch it again and again.  This is such an amazing collection of one of my all time favorite cartoons and some day, it hope to see it among my other DVDs.

Item 4: A death ray. Ok, not a death ray, but the Wardenclyffe Tower in Long Island, New York was where Nikola Tesla was working on creating free power for the entire world. Learn about Tesla and maybe donate a few dollars in the name of your geek to help restore the lab of the original mad scientist. And, by the way, he was working on a death ray at the time of his death and the US government confiscated his notes on the project.

Item 5: Know how when you get a new computer, you can't figure out how to get your stuff off your old one? Know how much of a pain it is to have to deal with multiple external hard drives?
