Based on the popular card game. A squad of space marines are sent to investigate a colony that has recently fallen out of contact, but when they get there, they find the first signs of non-human life are super annoying.
Before I even go any further, read the above summary again. Just let it sink in for a second. Now forget it completely. Honestly, I'm not sure if it is a typo, or a hilarious way to throw you off, but that is not what you'll be reading about in Munchkin number four. Or, at least, my copy wasn't..
Once again, we join Spyke the Fearless in another dungeon going after more loot. Along with new companion Adaire, they stumble upon both the treasure and another adventurer. In a rather unusual turn of events, they are somehow teleported away and the issue continues on in a very Star Trek-esque crossover manner. Closing out this chapter as well is a pun filled look at adventurer's trying out the life at sea.
Although this issue didn't have much of anything for swords and axes clashing, the artwork was still quite interesting. This of course was greatly aided but the very unexpected sci-fi switcharoo, adding another feel to the series. Whether or not we see more of that, this issue at least used it well and was a fun change of pace.
I personally haven't played any other Munchkin past the core set, but I know there is a large number of other add on sets. This is really the only reason the space adventures didn't completely confuse me. If they do more like this issue with other sets, I'd enjoy reading more and would say it's something to look out for at the shop.
