Abigail is a ninegirl with a huge imagination who moves
to a small town where she's the new kid at school, struggling to make friends.
All that changes when she meets a Yeti named Claude who has escaped a
top government facility. Abigail and Claude become the best of friends, but to
make sure he can truly be free from the "Shadow Men" chasing him,
they must go on an adventure to find Claude's real home!
Hot on the heels of another fantastic
story about the imaginary friends, Boom brings us a new one. This time though, it focuses specifically on
one such imaginary creature from urban legend.
The adorable tale of Abigail and the Snowman already seemed like a fun
book to read just from the title, and that proved to be right.
Little Abigail finds herself dealing with something many
children do, trying to fit into a new town and school. Already having an imaginary pet dog, she
comes across one of the last things anyone would expect to – a yeti. On the run from a secret agency that had for
years kept the yeti Claude trapped, Abigail is determined to keep him free.
This wonderful story is both written and illustrated by
the likes of Roger Langridge. The same spectacularly
cute artwork I loved in The
Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow is featured here. It’s playful, it’s light and airy, and it’s
just plain perfect for books like this.
Whether you’re my age or closer to that of Abigail, you
are probably going to enjoy this. It’s
just so fun and being based on something most everyone knows makes it easily
relatable. It’s going to be another
short 4 book run, and from what I can tell so far is worth picking up.
