Imagine Agents

Ever try to wrangle an illiterate, 30-foot tall rock monster away from his five-year-old best friend? Or calm down a 400-pound, muscle-man rag-doll during her daily temper tantrum? For Dave and Terry, it’s all in a day’s work. As agents for I.M.A.G.I.N.E., they are responsible for keeping your imaginary friends in line. Little do they know that an abandoned figment from days past has a plan to change the status quo. What happens when the imaginary friends become the ones who are seen?

This by far is one of the most fun books I’ve read in quite a while, which is saying a lot for all the fun books I come across.  Something about it just won me over from the very beginning and kept me glued to the pages to the end.  The imagination is what brought on this book and that is exactly what Imagine Agents is all about.

Many of us had imaginary friends as small children and were all tailored exactly to what our minds conjured up.  This story brings about the possibility that they aren’t so made up, just visible only to their “assignee”.  Like Men in Black for managing these entities, agents of I.M.A.G.I.N.E. take care of the day to day situations that arise.  When a rogue figment tries to drastically change the balance of how we coexist with them, the agents and even some unexpected allies step in to save the day.

As a book so driven by the whimsical creations that could come from a child’s mind, the art needed to be vibrant and playful.  This was by far a strong success, with beautiful visuals in both their colors and linework.  I truly adored all the different characters that were created for this book and it was a huge part of why I enjoyed the book.

With pages upon pages of gorgeous art that illustrates a wonderful story, this is a title that instantly became a winner for me.  It can really be appreciated by fans of all sorts and is one I highly suggest grabbing.  Everybody would be doing themselves a big favor by adding this to their read list and collection as soon as possible.
