Hero Cats 2

Posted by Geek-o-Rama Admin on 8:00 AM

Would you like to play a game? Duty calls as the Hero Cats defend Stellar City against Johnny Arcado’s dangerous digitized minions. But in this game there is no reset button!

With so many superhero movies coming out lately, it’s fun to see a different side of the hero action.  In this case, the good guys come in small furry packages.  No, I’m not talking about G-Force, otherwise I’d have said tiny furry packages.  In this case, it’s the heroic team of kitties in the second issue of Hero Cats.

In case you missed the first issue, we were introduced to a group of cats who possess special abilities of sorts.  With powers ranging from mind reading to super speed, they’ve banded together to protect their home of Stellar City.  While the first issue was a lighter, intro type book, the darker more action oriented side of things starts in book two.  Facing off against a villain turning video games into his weapon, the team has to get past their differences and work together to save the day.

Once again, the cute and cuddly adventures of these felines are drawn in an equally charming fashion.  All cuteness of the characters themselves aside, we get to see a broader spectrum of the artwork with fights and more flashy sequences.  But, the lovable group of heroes is just as adorable as they were in the launch issue.

The story in the second issue definitely got more involved and has shown us the potential for a really good series.  With appeal for people of all ages and interests, it’s a fun book that I’m glad I got to jump into.  If you haven’t already, you should definitely join these brave little guys and grab both the first issue as well as this one.
