Cutter 2

Posted by Geek-o-Rama Admin on 11:00 AM

What if that kid you and your friends picked on in your youth came back with a vengeance...to kill you and your friends? That dark guilt-ridden fear is at the core of CUTTER, a cautionary tale about the sins of your past coming back to haunt you.

Writers:
Seamus Fahey
Robert Napton
Artist:
Christian DiBari
Publisher:
Top Cow

After covering issue 1 I had hoped that this schlocky bit of fun would continue to deliver the goods. This issue finds the entire town worried now that the news is out about who could be behind all the killings. In typical horror film fashion, tensions begin to boil, with half the town standing around disbelieving and the other half ready to try and hunt down the person behind the killings. Everyone is in general agreement though that perhaps the towns sins are coming back to haunt them.

Things escalate in typical fashion, as our protagonists go to checkout Emily Higgins old house, now a dilapidated cabin in the woods. The rest of the group head to an old war memorial in an attempt to trap her. As this is the middle of a mini series, what happens isn't exactly unpredictable, but it is a lot of fun.

Throughout the issue it's apparent that the writers are enjoying writing such an fun and silly concept, but they never let that enjoyment wash over into ruining the atmosphere they are trying to generate.  It's still a creepy comic and one that keeps you on your toes up to the cliffhanger conclusion. Something big is going to happen next issue and I can't wait.
