Editor's Note: This week's Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaign is a bit different. It's not a comic book or even comic related. However, it is something close to my heart and something I believe that we should support if we can. It's a small business. Life isn't easy for the small businesses of the world so when one reaches out and asks for help and it's run by good, quality people, I believe we should do what we can. So while The Wandering Owl doesn't sell trading cards, it does sell hope. This is the little shop that could and I would love to see it turn into the little shop that did.
Where Creativity and Spirituality Meet
Who we are
The Wandering Owl is a small metaphysical shop located at 139 N. Jackson Street in downtown Jackson Michigan. Because we see creativity as an expression of one’s own spirit and spirituality, we also feature a wide range of art and crafts from local artists, and Fair Trade items from artisans around the world; these alongside our metaphysical items and supplies from cultures and paths from around the globe.
A little over a year ago, The Wandering Owl was opened by James and Angela Stovall with only their savings. The idea was to grow slowly, reinvesting profits and expanding as we could. Since then, the demand for growth has far exceeded the ability to do so using this method. We have been well received by our community, and those seeking to find their own definition of spirituality so that they can take that first step upon their own path. We want nothing more than to be able to meet the needs of those seeking to learn and find the magic within themselves. To do this, it is time for The Owl to grow and expand on the things we can offer to those who have chosen to seek it.
What we need
We are looking to raise $5,000 to set out on our journey growth. With this we will be able to offer new things as well as expand on many we already offer. This includes:
- Putting the final touches and adding to our Lending Library. The library will offer books and materials on various forms of spirituality and metaphysics for a small annual subscription.
- Upgrading shop displays so that we can offer a wider variety of items in the small space we have available. This will include our growing collection of beautiful local art.
- Further remodeling of our class and workshop room so that we can offer larger and more intensive workshops; including deep meditation, journeying, and spiritual healing.
- Finally, expansion of several highly requested product lines, including bulk herbs, essential oils, candles, and books.
For this we are reaching out to you, our community, to reach our goals and build a place where anyone can seek out a safe and accepting environment for learning and growth.
