KickStarter of the Week: Beginnings, Life of an Artist

Posted by Katie on 5:00 PM

So we decided that KickStarter was the way to go to fund the printing of Beginnings: Life of an Artist and fund the art studio with supplies, so any artist/student could use to complete their projects. We like to provide everyone a place they can call home. With your donations you will provide us with all the equipment and tools that the studio will need to make this possible. Our goal is to continue teaching  graduated students because if we don't who will. Donations will also go toward the printing of this book and a percentage of this KickStarter will go to our local high school for helping with the layout of the book.

Every once in a while, a project comes along that grabs my attention and just won't let go. When I met Tommy down in Austin, the passion that he had for helping young artists grow was so apparent that I haven't stopped thinking about it since. TG Comics takes kids from the local high school and gives them an art home. Just ask people like Mike Debalfo or Jeff Pina what it means to them to have a place like that in the Phoenix area (aka Jesse James Comics) and you'll hear them go on and on about how much that support has helped them in their careers. Knowing that there is a place they can always go to or someone they can always talk to is major. I don't usually say things like this, but if you're going to sponsor a new Kickstarter this week, please go and check this one out. If my words aren't enough to convince you, please watch this video:
