Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Stan Lee, Robert Englund, John Ratzenberger Headline Celebrity Guests At Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, February 7-9

NEW ORLEANS,  – Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Jon Bernthal and Michael Rooker of “The Walking Dead,” Robert Englund (“Freddy Kruger” of A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Eisner Award Hall of Famer Stan Lee are among the popular celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con, February 7-9 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The standout lineup will also include John Ratzenberger (“Cheers,” Toy Story), WWE® Diva AJ Lee™, Linda Hamilton (Terminator, Beauty and the Beast), Alan Tudyk (“Serenity,” Wreck it Ralph) and many others. It is the second of 16 events currently scheduled in the 2014 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) and will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known comics artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

Reedus, Yeun, Englund, Bernthal and Tudyk will appear on Saturday and Sunday, Feb 8-9. Stan Lee will attend on Friday and Saturday; AJ Lee will appear on Saturday; and Rooker, Hamilton and Ratzenberger are scheduled for all three days. This marks the fourth Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con; successful events were held at the Morial Convention Center in January 2011, January 2012 and November 2012.

Superstar comics creators scheduled to attend include Mike Zeck (“Spider-Man,” “Punisher”), Jim Cheung (“Avengers vs. X-Men,” “Iron Man”), 13-time Eisner Award Winner Mike Mignola (“Hellboy,” “Batman”), Humberto Ramos (“Amazing Spider-Man,” “Impulse”), Eisner Award Hall of Famer Marv Wolfman (“DCU Online,” “Crisis on Infinite Earths”), Phil Ortiz (“The Simpsons,” “Muppet Babies”) and 50+ others to date, with additional talented writers and artists to be announced.

Other headline celebrities on the New Orleans Comic Con roster include Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” The Waterboy), Jason David Frank (“Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers”), Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens), Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” “Stars Earn Stripes”), “Elvira” Cassandra Peterson (Elvira, Mistress of the Dark) and Pam Grier (“Smallville,” Jackie Brown).

Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, graphic novels, comics, toys, video gaming, television, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.  Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con show hours are Friday, Feb. 7, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 8, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

A first-class lineup of topical programming takes place all three days at the event, with celebrity Q&A's, comics-themed sessions, costume contest, movie screenings, evening parties and more.  Sunday, Feb. 9, is also Kids Day, with an array of activities and programming specially designed for the younger Wizard World fans.

New Orleans Comic Con is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event.  Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed –  will roam the convention floor, often stopping by the Show Stage, the ideal place to see and be seen.

Norman Reedus, Jon Bernthal, Michael Rooker From 'TWD' To Attend Fan Extravaganza With Celebrities, Creators, Exhibitors, Sports Stars And More Set For New Riverside Location At Basketball City (Pier 36), just north of the Manhattan Bridge near South Street Seaport


NEW YORK – Experience New York City, differently, as Wizard World brings together celebrities, creators, sports stars, music, exhibitors, parties and other attractions at the 2013 Wizard World New York City Experience, June 28-30.  Comics legend Stan Lee, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" icon Patrick Stewart and “The Walking Dead” trio of Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker and Jon Bernthal are the first stars scheduled to attend the extravaganza at Basketball City (Pier 36) in lower Manhattan, overlooking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty and steps away from vibrant South Street Seaport.

“Fans will want to keep the last weekend of June open,” said John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO.  “We have a star-studded affair planned and we are excited to launch with an early guest list, with more to follow. This show will have an all new look and feel that encompasses talented artists, unique shopping opportunities, specialty programming, sports heroes and much more.  It will be a true experience unlike any other for New York fans.”

Tickets go on sale for this exclusive event, with limited tickets available, on March 1 at www.wizardworld.com.  Additional guests, special receptions and events, start and end times and ticket prices will be announced shortly.

Wizard World NYC Experience will be the fourth of eight events on the 2013 calendar, which also currently includes shows in Portland, Ore. (Feb. 22-24), St. Louis (March 22-24), Philadelphia (May 30 - June 2), Chicago (Aug. 8-11), Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 20-22), Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 18-20) and Austin, Texas (Nov. 22-24).  Wizard World has also scheduled its next New Orleans date (Feb. 7-9, 2014).

Michael Rooker and Chandler Riggs Join PHXCC 2013

Phoenix Comicon is proud to announce that actors Michael Rooker and Chandler Riggs will be attending Comicon 2013. 

“We are so happy to have Rooker and Riggs here with us at this year's Comicon. You never know when they'll be a zombie swarm that needs to be taken care of!,” says Marketing Director Jillian Squires.

Michael Rooker is best known for his current role of the one-handed zombie killer Merle Dixon on the hit AMC television series The Walking Dead. Rooker is also well known for his role of Henry in the 1986 movie Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. For this role, Rooker was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead and won the Fantasporto Award and Golden Space Needle Award, both for Best Actor. In addition to being a regular cast member of The Walking Dead, recently you could hear Rooker's voice as the character Sheriff E.Z. Ponder for the FX animated comedy Archer in 2012.

Chandler Riggs is best known for his role as Carl Grimes on the hit AMC television series The Walking Dead. A regular cast member since Season 1, Riggs was nominated for his performance as a Lead Actor in The Walking Dead at the 33rd Young Artist Awards in 2012. Riggs has also appeared in the 2009 film Get Low as Tom. In addition to being a regular cast member of The Walking Dead, Riggs will appear in the upcoming film Mercy in 2013.

Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture experience of the southwest. Comicon is presenting guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, tv, and gaming industries. Entering its eleventh year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 40,000 attendees to its May 23-26, 2013 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Downtown Phoenix.
