Action Lab Comics is proud to announce it's first free comic on Comixology (and boy what a deal it is)!

Posted by Katie on 5:00 PM

The first issue of "The Order of Dagonet", written by "Princeless" scribe Jeremy Whitley and illustrated by the amazing Jason Strutz is now available for free to anyone that uses Comixology.  People often tout issues as "jumping on points" but what better jumping on point could you ask for than the first issue!  If you've been meaning to check the book out or if you're a fan of Princeless (or even just a fan of free stuff) this is your chance to try out a great book.  And if that wasn't enough, the free issue is a 44 page double-sized book!

For those who don't know, "The Order of Dagonet" is the tale of the reemergence of mythological creatures into modern England and those tasked with fighting them.  When the seal is broken that's been keeping the monsters of lore at bay, the only people who can stop them are the Knights of England.  Unfortunately, the age old tradition of knighting has changed a bit since the ages of old.  The knights who come to the rescue are not men in shining armor, but instead a burnt out rock star, a Shakespearean actor turned B-movie regular, and an author of popular children's books.  They're no heroes, but they're our last defense against the forces of Faerie!

Double Jumpers Hits Comixology!

Posted by Katie on 9:00 PM

From Action Lab, the studio that brought you "Princeless" comes the comic the shares absolutely none of the things you liked about "Princeless", "Double Jumpers"!

Proving again their determination not to be pinned down to any one niche in the comics industry, Action Lab Comics has chosen their second book to be featured on Comixology and it's what some critics have called the anti-Princeless.  From Action Lab's own renegade writer Dave Dwonch and rogue illustrator William "Bill" Blankenship comes the M rated comic that's anything but mature.

"Double Jumpers" invites you to follow a group of video game programmers who, on the eve of their new game's debut, fall victim to a freak accident and find themselves in the bodies (and the world) of their characters.  If that wasn't bad enough, there's an evil army closing in!  But where the real fun begins is when those characters get transferred into the bodies of the programmers!  Now a legendary knight, a powerful sorcerer, a ruthless barbarian, and a dubiously sexy thief are let loose on Las Vegas...and they're ready to party!

Hannibal Tabu of CBR says:  "...this is what indie comics are supposed to be like. High production values, sharp writing, engaging artwork, and most importantly fun! What a wonderful, wonderful surprise."

PS Hayes of Geeks of Doom says:  "it’s a boat-load of fun, and I guarantee you’re going to enjoy it."

If you haven't had a chance to check this series out yet, all three issues that are currently available are now on Comixology!  Issue 4 brings the big finish, so stop in here:  http://www.comixology.com/Double-Jumpers/comics-series/7975 and get caught up.  This is one quest that's sure to level up your comics reading experience!
