Feathers 2

Fresh from their near-miss escape from the Guards, Bianca and Poe strike a deal: If he guides her through the treacherous Maze, she will take him to see the White Guide, a feathered statue in the City that may hold the key to Poe’s origins. It’s an adventure that will take them from the lowest shadows to the highest rooftops, with untold dangers along the way...and not everyone in the Maze is happy about their new alliance.

Whenever you start a new book or show, sometimes you can tell right away if you'll like it, sometimes it takes a while.  I typically try to wait a few issues or episodes before I make a judgement, but sometimes I just decide on a whim.  I could almost tell from issue one of Feathers that I'd grow to love it, and the follow up definitely kept that possibility strong.

Issue two of this fun tale really starts building from where we left off in the intro book.  Poe and his new friend Bianca get to know each other more and learn more of how they see things from their very different sides of the city.  Along the way of the so to speak "tour" of the Maze, they even manage to come across a new pal that doesn't run off at the sight of Poe.  The fun comes to abrupt stop though once Poe's father manages to find him.

Just as much as the story improved, I think the art did as well.  We got to see a lot more of the city, as well as quite a bit more characters both major and minor.  All around both the illustrations and coloring are just wonderful.  In particular I really enjoyed any scenes involving the "Guide" character hinted at throughout the book.

As I expected, this is turning out to be a really great title to get into.  The story and art have more than stayed solid, and have not only kept my interest but increased it.  I would gladly suggest this to readers of all interests and ages and should certainly be on your watch list.
